Youth US Sailing Keelboat Sailing Certification  

It's with great enthusiasm that I announce Hoboken School District's first Youth US Sailing Keelboat Sailing Certification Course with Hoboken Sailing Club! This spectacular opportunity is open to all Hoboken High School and Hoboken Middle School Students.

We will be offering 2 Keelboat Sailing Certification sessions. If your child is interested in learning to sail and holding a 1 year US Sailing Membership please enroll now! Only sign up for one session as this is the same course offered twice. By running the same program twice we will have the opportunity to certify and transform 36 students into sailors by the start of summer 2021!

*Students must participate in the Learn to Swim Course PRIOR to the sailing certification if they don't know how to swim.*

*Students and families are responsible for meeting and gathering at the location below. The school district will not be bussing. Students will be self dismissed at 4:30.

• Programming materials, testing, and certificates will be provided and are part of the cost. 
• The students will leave the one month program with a US Sailing Keelboat Certification and a 1-year membership with US Sailing.
• Students who don't know how to swim must sign up for a learn to swim course.
• Weather dependent where the program director reserves the right to cancel and reschedule at which time you will be notified.
  

Hoboken Sailing Club

A community sailing club that offers access to the Hudson River to its diverse membership.  The club has an education component that fosters the development of the skill of sailing through class instruction combined with experiential knowledge garnered from the use of the club sailboats.  The fleet consists of J80 class boats, J24 class boats and an Archambault Surprise cruising boat.

US Sailing

As the National Governing Body for the sport of sailing, US Sailing’s mission is to provide leadership for the sport of sailing in the United States.

The organization works to achieve this mission through a wide range of programs and events. US Sailing sets the course enabling sailors to enjoy the sport for a lifetime.
