The Story: Margaret E. Knight was a 19th century American inventor who patented 89 inventions and created many more.  This play focuses on two of Knight's inventions,  a spindle fail-safe in a loom factory she created when she was 12 years old and a machine that creates flat paper bags, and the struggles she faced for herself and her work to be recognized.
