2025 MSBOA Solo & Ensemble Festival is almost here! Please register if you plan on participating. 

The festival starts at 8:00 AM and ends at 5:00 PM.  You do not have to be there for the entire day.  Your exact performance time will be provided approximately 2 weeks prior to the festival. You must provide your own transportation.

Please select the events that you would like to sign-up for. Each student may only sign-up for a maximum of two events. Each member of a duet, trio, quartet or quintet needs to sign-up separately to pay their share of the overall ensemble fee. If a student is participating in two similar events (ex: clarinet solo and piano solo) they should add two of that event to their cart.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Classical music (Your Director will help you find music, or your private instructor.)

2. Must be a minimum of 1 minute and 30 seconds to qualify.

3. All soloists must play with a piano accompanist (unless you are a percussionist and the solo has not piano part).  

• You may find your own accompanist  
• Your director will refer someone you can contact
• If the publisher of the solo has a recorded piano part, you can use that at the event but must bring your own speakers to play it.

4. At the festival, you must provide the original copy (no photo copies) of your music for the adjudicator to review.

5. You must be willing to PRACTICE and prepare your music at home.  Your Director needs to hear you at least once before the festival.  It is your responsibility to ask for help.

6. A minimum of class time will be designated for solo and ensemble practice.

7. Students may participate in up to two events.

Registration Deadline: Wednesday, October 30th at the latest. If your child is participating in an ensemble with multiple members each member will need to sign-up individually.
