On Friday, December 6, the members of our BLPA World Citizenship club are invited to meet as a group to go the Denver German Christkindlmarket and to Helga’s Haus German Restaurant.

Our club leaders felt that it would be a great cultural opportunity to eat authentic German cuisine and attend the annual Christkindlmarket. The address for the restaurant is: 14197 E. Exposition Ave., Aurora, CO. 80012 and the address for the market is: Civic Center Park

101 W. 14th Ave., Denver, CO. 80204. The time of the field trip will be from 3:00-9:00 p.m. We will be taking a bus to both locations. Students, parents/chaperones/host parents will need to be at the school promptly at 2:45 to attend because the bus will leave at 3:00. We will then go directly to the restaurant for lunch (4:10-5:30), then we will get on the bus to the market from 6:00-8:00 p.m. We will catch the bus back to school to return by 9:15 p.m.

"This annual event brings authentic German and European holiday traditions to Denver! The Market is hosted by the German American Chamber of Commerce Colorado, a nonprofit 501c6 organization and features small business vendors. The Market opens every year on the Friday before Thanksgiving and lasts through the 23rd of December. The event offers an authentic German holiday experience, including opportunities to meet St. Nikolaus, Krampus and the Christkind herself. Guests can savor the season as they enjoy authentic Glühwein, Bavarian-style Biers, or hot chocolate while wandering through the Market. Each charming wooden hut offers finely crafted artisan gifts and holiday treats sold by local Coloradan and international merchants."

German Student Menu - The price per student is $17.00 which includes the food, drink, dessert, tip. 

Menu

1.) Chicken schnitzel with fries and red cabbage.

2.) Pork jaeger Schnitzel spätzle and veggie of the day.

3.) Smoked Bratwurst with potato salad and sauerkraut.

4.) Deli sandwich on rye bread with soup.

Dessert: Apple Strudel w whipped cream (cut into 1-inch pieces) 

German Adult Menu - The price per adult is $27.20 which includes the food, drink, dessert, tip. 

Adult:

1.) PORK JAGER SCHNITZEL One Tender piece of pork rolled in flour covered with a hunter’s sauce diced sweet peppers, and red wine and topped with golden onions and mushrooms. Served with Sauerkraut and Fries.

2.) TWO BRATWURST PLATTER One Smoked and One Veal Bratwurst charbroiled over live coals. Served with Sauerkraut and Potato Salad.

3.) CHICKEN SCHNITZEL Tender chicken breast dipped in egg batter rolled in breadcrumbs served on a bed of brown sauce. Served with Spatzle and Red Cabbage.

4.) BERTA’S PORK ROAST Succulent all-natural boneless pork loin sprinkled with fresh garlic cloves, hand rubbed with ground caraway, and then braised in our brown sauce. Served with Red Cabbage and Kroketten.
