DROP THE MIC IS
BACK! This invitational public speaking competition, hosted by Bloom-Carroll
FFA, will allow students to earn awards and gift card prizes while helping FFA
chapters and members in need.
Drop the Mic
includes Creed, Beginning Prepared, Advanced Prepared and Extemporaneous
speaking events. Ohio Career Development Public Speaking rules will be followed

The preliminaries
will take place on Zoom but the finals will be IN PERSON at Bloom-Carroll High
School. Each chapter can enter up to 3 students per event. After the
preliminaries, the top 10 contestants within each contest will move on to the
in-person contest.
The first round
for Creed & Extemporaneous will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, Jan. 28
beginning at 3:30 pm. The first round for Beginning & Advanced Prepared
will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, Jan. 29 beginning at 3:30 pm. Announcement
of the finalists will be made on Wednesday, January 30. Score sheets and any
judges comments will be shared with FFA advisors of all participants.
The finals will
be held IN PERSON at Bloom-Carroll High School on Saturday, February 1st at 10
am. Score sheets will be returned and feedback from the judges will be
available for all finalists.
The entry fee is
$20 per student. Each student advancing to the finals will receive an award.
Winners in each event will be awarded gift card prizes: 1st place-$50 gift
card, 2nd place-$40 gift card, 3rd place-$30 gift card, 4th place-$20 gift
card.

who your speakers are yet, go ahead and reserve your spot(s) by typing TBD in
both the first and last name fields. Email our secretary at [email protected] when
you know your participants. Entries will be accepted through Midnight, January
22.
Bloom-Carroll FFA
