The following before and after school classes will be offered for the 1st session.

Most classes have a limited number of spots so be sure to sign up early. Cosmic Kids Morning Yoga, Grades K-2, 7 weeks, 10/21, 10/28, 11/4, 11/18, 11/25, 12/2, 12/9, $42, 8:00-8:45am, Class meets in Room 7   * Limit 20 Students

Come join us before school to develop strength, balance and confidence doing yoga adventures through the Cosmic Kids Yoga Program.  Cosmic Kids make yoga and mindfulness fun-which means kids see the videos as a treat.  Parents and teachers report significant improvements in self-regulation, focus and empathy.  Students will have fun going on virtual adventures all while doing yoga.  A light snack before school will be provided. 

Lego Club, Grades 1-4, 6 weeks, 10/25,  11/8, 11/22, 12/6, 12/13, $30, 8:00-8:45am, Class meets in Room 15    *Limit 25 Students

Do you like to make your own creations with Legos?  If so, then this is the class for you!  Join the Lego Club to make your own designs, create challenge projects or just work with some friends.

STEM-Rolling Things Challenge, Grades Kindergarten & 1, 10/17, 10/22, 10/24, 10/29, 11/5, 11/7, $42, 3:50-5:00pm, Class meets in Media Center    *Limit 30 Students

Blanche Sims Elementary has been chosen to collaborate with BorgWarner/SAE Automotive to bring our students an exciting engineering program called “A World In Motion” (AWIM). AWIM is an engineering-based program that teaches students STEM (Science and technology) related skills and conducts real world projects.  Partnering with BorgWarner, our Kindergarten and first grade students will experience the Rolling Things Challenge!  The Rolling Things Challenge includes a comprehensive hands-on STEM curriculum facilitated by teachers, in conjunction with actual engineers from BorgWarner/SAE Automotive.  This highly popular program, is a great introduction to the world of engineering and automobile development.

Beading Club, Grades 2-5, 7 weeks, 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, 11/19, 11/26, 12/3, 12/10, $42, 8:00-8:45am, Class meets in Room 7   * Limit 12 Students

Do you like to make jewelry?  This club is perfect for anyone who loves to make all sorts of beaded creations.  Hope to see you there!

Computer Science Club, Grades 2-5, 5 weeks, 10/28, 11/4, 11/11, 11/18, 11/25, $50, 3:50-4:50pm, Class meets in Media Center    *Limit 15 Students

This club is designed to teach kids basic computer science skills including coding and parts of a PC with a teacher from LOX Tech Lab.  Club members will use these concepts to program robots, create stories and design games.  NO experience is needed and all are welcome to come and enjoy the FUN & GAMES!  Bring headphones if you have them, as we will work with creating music as well.

Blanche Sims is bringing back the student news show.  The news show crew will plan, record, and edit the news in iMovie and create a link that will be emailed to all teachers.
